According to PZLA guidelines, participants representing Russia and Belarus are excluded from participating in the ‘Bydgoszcz Canal Night Marathon since 2007’. This exclusion applies to nationality, not citizenship!

Below there are only the most important, selected issues from the regulations.It is necessary to read the entire text below!

● Participation in the competition is voluntary and each participant starts at their own risk, regardless of the weather conditions encountered on the route.In the event of damage to health or material losses, participants will not make claims against the organizer.

● During verification at the race office, no authorizations to collect the package on someone else's behalf WILL BE ACCEPTED! This means that the package can only be collected in person after presenting an ID with a photo!

Earlier starts, before the regular start, will result in classification as DNS (did not start).The above does not apply to the masters category, to which the organizer determines only and exclusively.

● The competition takes place in a city park with a varied surface (gravel, asphalt).You have to expect unevenness, carried stones, cones, etc.Additionally, the competition takes place after dusk and at night, which additionally favours dangerous situations!

● The competition route runs at least on two short sections on the roadway.The roadway includes at least the sidewalk and the roadway.Participants are obliged to cover these sections ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY ON THE SIDEWALK! When running up to and running down from the road, it is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions of the organizer's services and/or follow the temporary traffic management signs!

● Having your own lighting in the form of a "headlamp" or other similar accessories IS MANDATORY!The route will be lit with park lamps, but the organizer is not responsible for the failure of this lighting, which does not belong to the organizer!

● Nordic Walking competitors and cyclists, roller skaters, scooters, etc., are prohibited from participating, e.g. as pacemakers on the marathon route during the competition.The organizer does not accept the participation of competitors with dogs and other animals!

REGULATIONS

1. GOALS

Continuing the tradition of the oldest, continuously held night marathon in Poland.
Maintaining the cult character of the event, i.e. gathering regular participants at the start, who are a symbol of the value of sports, and in particular marathon runs.
Promoting the City of Bydgoszcz in Poland, Europe and the world.
Promoting the sports and recreational values
​​of the Bydgoszcz Planty, a park located along a unique monument of hydrotechnics, the Old Bydgoszcz Canal, the oldest fully completed waterway in Poland, which connected the river basins of Western and Eastern Europe.
Enabling runners to compete in a unique setting - at night.
Promoting physical culture and sports - the opportunity to cover a shorter distance than the marathon.
Popularizing long-distance runs.

4. ROUTE

The route leads along park alleys with a gravel and asphalt surface around the Old Bydgoszcz Canal.The length of the lap is 4.2195 km, which is exactly 1/10 of the marathon distance.The route is lit with park lamps.
Terrain.START/FINISH - 53 m above sea level, then - 48 m above sea level, at the turn (on Wrocławska Street) - 45 m above sea level.So we run "downhill" to the turn and then uphill to the start. Start near the KS "Gwiazda" at 45 Bronikowskiego Street towards the city center, turnaround at the Lock IV at Wrocławska Street.You can see the route here ROUTE

5. DISTANCE, TIME MEASUREMENT, LIMIT, MEDICAL CARE

The competition will be held in over six distances that are multiples of 1/10 of the marathon distance.Finishing the race at a different - than the declared - distance is permissible and does not result in failure to classify in the competition. Such a change in distance (SHORTENING/INCREASING) must be reported IMMEDIATELY after such a decision is made at the time measurement point. A competitor who finishes the race at a distance shorter than a half marathon or after the time limit has passed will not be classified in the results.Only the abbreviation DNF (did not finish) will appear next to their name.The time limit does not apply to masters category, to which the organizer determines only and exclusively.

Marathon

Time measurement – electronic, using chips attached to a personalized start number.Runners do not return start numbers.The number is the property of the competitor.

During the race, all competitors must have start numbers attached to the front of the start shirt or on the front of the right leg of the shorts. Under the penalty of disqualification, it is not allowed to cover the start number in part or in whole.

The start number (on request it will be personalized) after the race is the property of the participant.

The time limit for all distances is 6 hours, and in the masters category there is no time limit. The masters category is determined only and exclusively by the organizer.

Medical care will be provided for the duration of the race until 03:00 on 16 June 2025.THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE EMERGENCY SERVICE will be printed on the start number.

Competitors who finish the lap after the time limit (not belonging to the masters category) or start the lap without a chance of finishing the race within the time limit are obliged to stop the race.

6. PARTICIPATION

The run is open to individuals who will be 18 years of age by 14 June 2025 at the latest (born before 14 June 2007) and who have registered and paid the entry fee by the specified deadline and have been verified at the race office are full participants in the competition.

7. INSURANCE

Each participant of the race during its duration will be insured against the consequences of accidents on the basis of groupinsurance covering in particular:

- Benefit for permanent damage to health resulting from an accident,

- Benefit for death resulting from an accident

The insurance sum in the basic scope is PLN 10,000.00.

The participant has the right to view the insurance contract and the relevant General Insurance Terms and Conditions, which will be available at the race office. Each participant may individually insure themselves in a broader scope than described above at their own expense. Recommended. ________________________________________

8. APPLICATIONS, VERIFICATION

Applications will be accepted only from the Super Sport website, the provider of electronic entries, fees and time measurement. As of 23 May 2025 at 23:59 the start list and PAYMENTS will be closed.

By sending the form, the applicant consents to the processing of their personal data for the needs of the organizer and consents to the use of the image recorded in the form of a photograph or video recording.The applicant grants the organizer a license to use the recorded image in all fields of use, including in particular, reproducing the recording of the recorded image, posting and publishing the recorded image on websites, in the press, posters and billboards, broadcasting the recorded image in television and radio broadcasts, By sending the online application form or signing the "Application Card" in paper form at the competition office, the applicant accepts these regulations.

Mandatory verification of competitors and issuing of packages at the KS "Gwiazda" office on June 14, 2025 (Saturday) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. It is mandatory to have an ID card.

9. ENTRY FEE

The entry fee for the race, regardless of the declared distance, is:

PLN 100 – payable by 30.11.2024

PLN 130 – payable by 28.02.2025

PLN 160 – payable by 23.05.2025

The entry fee must be paid exclusively via the PayU electronic payment system, made available during registration.

The following rule applies: I REGISTER AND PAY

Each participant is required to pay the entry fee IMMEDIATELY after registering for the race. Otherwise, their registration will be cancelled.They must then register again.

IMPORTANT!

It will also be possible to run only with a chipped starting number without a package (no medal, no T-shirt), registration and a fee of PLN 70 (cash), on the day of the competition. Payments made after 23.05.2025 will not be binding on the organizer in any way and will not be refundable. The fee once paid is non-refundable, but is transferable to another participant.

10. BENEFITS
People who finish the race and have paid for the starting package will receive a medal, the same for all distances, i.e. the marathon.
Each participant, registered and paid for by 23.05.2025, is guaranteed a starting package at the race office, i.e. a special T-shirt, a commemorative starting number and additional gadgets depending on the financial capabilities of the organizer.There will also be a medal at the finish line.
An ambulance will be present during the race.To summon it, call and provide the exact location of the incident. The telephone number of the paramedics in the ambulance will be printed on the starting number.

The race route will also be monitored by a mobile paramedic.

The organizer will provide drinks and food on the race route, and will also allow you to put out your own supplements. The organizer provides free accommodation at the "Gwiazda" Sports Club from 16:00, 14 June, 2025 (Saturday) to 12:00 on 15 June, 2025 (Sunday). Mattresses will be provided.

The organizer provides a deposit for items.Handing over and receiving items only upon presentation of the starting number.The organizer is not responsible for items not deposited.

Changing rooms, sinks, toilets and showers will be available on the premises of the "Gwiazda" Sports Club.

Portable toilets will be available in the START/FINISH area.

11. CLASSIFICATIONS

Two classifications will be held during the race:

1. OPEN classification, which will select the winners of the competition.

2. A separate classification of competitors from Ukraine containing the distance covered, surname, first name, town, club and year of birth, excluding the time achieved.

In the OPEN classification, competitors who finish the marathon will be classified first - further classification according to the distance covered. A female and male competitor in the OPEN classification will receive material/cash prizes for first place in the marathon. Prizes for women and men for the second and third places in the OPEN classification will depend on the event budget and are not guaranteed.

13. FINAL PROVISIONS

Completing the on-line registration form or the “Registration Card” in paper form at the competition office means that the competitor has assessed the nature, scope and degree of risk associated with participation in the marathon or a shorter distance and voluntarily decided to take this risk, starting in the marathon or a shorter distance solely at their own risk. Completing the online registration form or the “Registration Card” in paper form at the competition office means that the competitor fully agrees with the provisions of these regulations and undertakes to comply with them. All participants are required to sign a declaration of participation at their own risk, The organizer reserves the right to change the regulations, about which they are obliged to inform the competitors at any time after the announcement of the entries via a message on the POLSKIE Maratony.PL portal and on the FB profile of the competition, or inform the competitors before the race, The interpretation of these regulations belongs to the Director of the "Night Marathon of the Bydgoszcz Canal since 2007".
