  Night Marathon of the Bydgoski Canal since 2007 ● sixteenth edition

     

  Race rules in polish

 

Annex No. 1 to the following regulations.

It is allowed to participate in the competition in the remote formula. Everyone will be able to decide whether to run at the place of the competition in Bydgoszcz, i.e. stationary or in any chosen place, i.e. remotely.

a. there is no time of day in the remote race,

b. the assumed distance must be covered from 12 to 13 June 2021. The documented results should be sent until June 14, 2021  at the latest, until 23:59 to the address poczta@polskiemaratony.pl

 

At the time of publication of these rules, the pandemic situation is still uncertain. There are no reliable and proven pandemic forecasts. It should be assumed that the race can take place in the remote formula. These regulations apply to the stationary race in Bydgoszcz. We hope that everything will return to normal in June!

Important information


● All participants must pick up race packages in person, collection by a second party is not permitted. Participants identity will be verified at the time of the bib pick up. The office will close half an hour before the start. In exceptional cases, the organizer may - after prior notification by the competitor - provide the chip and bib number at the starting place.

● The competition takes place on a city playground with various surfaces (gravel, asphalt, soil, sand). Although surface defects and dangerous spots are always repaired, unevenness, pebbles, etc. should be taken into account. In addition, the competition is conducted after dark and at night, which may also pose hazard situations!

● Having your own lighting in the form of a headlamp or other accessories IS MANDATORY! The route will be illuminated with park lights, but the organizer is not responsible for any failures of this lighting that may occure during the race!

● Coaches, bikes, skateboards, dogs or any type of pacers are not allowed on the course.

● NORDIC WALKERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE COMPETITION ONLY WITH WALKING POLES WITH CLEAR REFLECTIVE ELEMENTS!

1. GOAL

Continuing tradition of the oldest, uninterrupted night marathon in Poland. 

Welcoming many returning runners, who represent the best values that marathon running has to offer.

Promotion of Bydgoszcz in Poland, Europe and beyond. 

Popularization of the park that goes along the unique, historic hydro-tech landmark, the Bydgoszcz Canal,  the oldest in Poland, complete water route, which connects Western parts of Europe with the Eastern. 

Offering the unique opportunity of racing at night.

Promotion of active lifestyle with the option of running the distance of choice.

Promotion of long distance running. 

2. ORGANIZER

Athletic Club “Gwiazda”, established in 1920

3. RACE DATE AND LOCATION

June 12, 2021, (Saturday) START at 9PM

June 13, 2021, (Sunday) Final cut off at 3AM

Race information center: ul. Bronikowskiego 45, Bydgoszcz (Athletic Club “Gwiazda”)

4. COURSE INFORMATION

10 loops. The course takes runners through the park, on gravel paths, around the Old Bydgoszcz Canal (the distance of one loop is 4,2195km). The entire route is lit up with park lamps.

TERRAIN: Start/Finish: 53,09 meters above see level. .25 of the loop: 49,62 m above see level. Turn around: 45,95 m above see level. (From start to turn around you are running downhill. From turn around to the the end of a loop you are running uphill.)

 Start of each loop is near the athletic club KS “Gwiazda” located at ul. Bronikowskiego, with runners heading towards downtown. Turn around is by the water lock #4 near ul. Wroclawska. >>> Marathon route

5. DISTANCE, TIME, CUT OFF

The competitors can run the desired distance, which will be multiply of the 1/10 of the full marathon distance. Finishing the race at a different than the initially declared distance is acceptable.

Such a change in distance must be reported to the race office during verification and at the latest after the race!

  • TIMING: All participants are assigned a timing device prior to the event which is to be attached to their shoe. Official times for all participants will be the electronic timing device time from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line.

You are required to return the chip after the completion of the race !!!

During the race, all competitors must have their bib numbers attached to the front of the running attire. Covering of the bib number and making it invisible is not allowed and will result in disqualification.

Your bib number is unique, a memento of the race and belongs to the runner.

Time limit for all distances is 6 hours.

Any runner who does not finish by the cut off time of 6 hours will be pulled from the race. 

6. PARTICIPATION 

The race is open to people who are over 18 on the start day, i.e. they were born on 12.06.2003 or earlier.

Nordic Walking walkers and walkers are allowed to participate.
NORDIC WALKERS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE COMPETITION ONLY WITH WALKING POLES WITH EXPRESSIVE REFLECTIVE ELEMENTS!

Participants must register, pay registration fee and receive confirmation from race organizers prior to the deadline in order to become eligible to race.

7. INSURANCE

Every participant is insured under the group insurance NNW for the following injuries: 

- medical treatment of an injury that resulted from an accident during the race
- support in case of death that resulted from an accident during the race.

The participant has the right to review the insurance contract and the relevant General Terms and Conditions of Insurance, which will be available in the race office.

Each participant may individually expand the insurance above what is described above at his own expense

8. REGISTRATION AND  CONFIRMATION

Registration is available online only via http://super-sport.com.pl until May 22, 2021.

Registration list closes on 23.05.2021. Anyone who will not have paid the fee by the above deadline will be deleted from the list.

By providing your registration information one agrees to share their personal information by race organizers - as stated in the August 29, 1997 Personal Identity Protection Law (Dz.U. Nr. 133. pos 883.) - via all channels, including: online, print media, posters, billboards, TV and radio.

Participants give race organizers a permission to use their photos, video footage via all channels, including: online, print media, posters, billboards, TV and radio at no cost. By signing your registration online or a paper copy in the race office, one agrees to these terms.

Mandatory verification of all participants identity is available at the athletic club KS “Gwiazda” on June 13, 2020 from 4pm to 8:30pm. ID required. 

9. ENTRY FEE

The entry fee, regardless of the distance:
PLN 60 - paid until 30th November 2020
PLN 75 - paid until 28th February 2021
PLN 90 - paid until 22th May 2021

METHOD OF PAYMENT

After registration, the entry fee should be transferred to the organizer's account.


Each participant is obliged to pay the entrance fee within 7 days following the date of enrolment. Otherwise the registration will be cancelled.
The payment deadline is 22th May 2021. Any payments received after this deadline will not guarantee the entrance to the race and will not be refundable.
On the day of the race the organizer will have a few spare run packages available at the cost of PLN 120, paid in cash in the Marathon office.
Run packages include: the bib number and chip, a medal and other souvenirs, depending on the organizer's budget.
The entry fee is not refundable in case the Participant resigns, yet it may be transferred to another Participant.

10. RACE LOGISTICS

Participants who finish race will receive a medal (same for everyone).

Each participant will receive their unique bib number, which they can keep after the race.

A meal is provided post race for every participant.

After the race each participant can upload their personal diploma from http://super-sport.com.pl

An ambulance will be available during the race.

The phone number to the paramedic in the ambulance will be printed on the bib.

The paramedic will also be present at the running route during the race.

Aid stations will be offering cold and hot beverages, sweets, bananas and allow runners to have their own snack bags. 

Organizers are providing free overnight accommodations at the athletic club “Gwiazda” from June 12 (Saturday) to June 13 (Sunday) - air mattress will be available.  

Organizers will provide storage of private belongings during the race. Pick up only by presenting your bib number. Organizers are not responsible for any private belongings left unattended.

Locker rooms, bathrooms with showers, restrooms are available at KS “Gwiazda”. 

Porto-potties will be available near START/FINISH area.

11. CLASSIFICATION, AWARDS

The OPEN classification will be carried out during the race,

First, the competitors who finish the marathon (42.195km) will be classified - further classification according to the distance traveled.
The winners (in both, female and male category) will receive a monetary prizes.
Awards for men and women for second and third places in the marathon (run) will depend on the event's budget and are not guaranteed.

13. FINAL REMARKS

By registering online or in person,  a runner agrees to terms and conditions and accepts the risks associated with running a half or full marathon.

In order to be classified among finishers a runner has to cross the finish line in 6 or less hours.

Every participant is required to sign a liability form confirming that they are running at their own risk. 

The organizers have the right to change race rules. All participants will be informed in advance of any changes to the race rules. 

The interpretation of the above rules is up to the race director of this marathon.
